About Us
The Charles River Center is nonprofit organization that serves children, adults and families of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Metrowest suburbs of Boston. The organization has a rich history of providing responsive, innovative, quality services in a cost effective manner. Services range from low intensity, intermittent assistance to intensive twenty four hour care for those whose disabilities have a severe impact on their ability to carry out even basic life skills. Charles River is one of the oldest and most respected organizations serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the local area. It has helped thousands of individuals and families whose lives have been enriched by its dedicated staff.
Charles River Center’s vision is “to be recognized as the leading provider of innovative, person-centered supports and services for those with developmental disabilities”, and its mission is, “to empower and support people with developmental disabilities by offering high-quality, individualized opportunities that foster independence and community inclusion”.
