Framingham Neighbors Invited to Potluck and Film Night - Join or Die
Framingham residents are invited to gather for a community potluck and film screening on Tuesday, September 16 at The Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road. Dinner begins at 6:00 PM, followed by a 7:00 PM showing of Join or Die, a documentary about social connection and civic engagement by Robert Putnam.
Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share, along with an ingredient list to ensure inclusivity. The film will be shown in English with Spanish subtitles.
The evening is designed to spark conversation, build connections, and highlight the importance of “social infrastructure” — the glue that holds communities together. Attendees will:
• Learn how civic engagement strengthens health and well-being
• Meet local organizers and organization that are making a difference
• Consider simple steps to bring more connection into your neighborhood
• Share good food with neighbors
The event also sets the stage for the upcoming Find Your People Fair on September 27 at Nevins Hall, where more than 45 local clubs and groups will welcome new members.
The potluck and film are presented by Dia Feliz Adult Day Health Center, The Plymouth Church, and community partners. Both events above are being staged as a part of National Good Neighbor Day.
Dia Feliz ADHC is a local advocate for the MA Coalition to Build Community and End Loneliness. For more information, contact Brian Dooley at 781-628-8451 or diafelizcm@gmail.com.
