DESCRIPTION:In support of Small Business Month (May)\, Eastern Bank is partnering with SEED Corporation to bring you two basic business workshops in Framingham aimed at assisting potential and existing entrepreneurs.\n\n \n\nThe free workshops are being held in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)\, MA Small Business Development Center (MSBDC)\, Metrowest Chamber of Commerce\, South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC)\, and SCORE.\n\n \n\nBoth workshops will be held at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC)\, 7 Bishop Street\, Framingham\, MA on Thursday\, May 25\, 2017.  The details of each workshop are provided below:\n\n \n\nSession I\n\n"Learn the Fundamentals in Planning\, Preparing\, and Financing Your Business"\,\n\n 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.  Breakfast will be provided for all participants.  \n\n \n\nThis workshop is geared toward helping potential entrepreneurs evaluate and understand the fundamentals of owning one's own business.  Information on how to get started\, where and how to get financing and the loan application process will be presented.  Attendees will also be provided with a free guide to writing a business plan and other materials.\n\n \n\nSession II\n\n"Understanding the Purpose of Financial Statements and How They Can Help Determine the Health of Your Business"\, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Lunch will be provided for all participants. \n\n \n\nThe focus of this workshop is to help attendees understand a balance sheet\, income statement\, and cash flow statement. The workshop also explains how a small business owner can anticipate financial needs in order to operate his/her business more efficiently.\n\n \n\n \n\nPlease call SEED Corporation at 508-822-1020 x 318\, to register for either or both sessions by Thursday\, May 18th and for directions to the Metrowest Chamber of Commerce.  SEED Corporation holds this entrepreneurial workshop series on a monthly basis throughout the region.  For information on future sessions\, please contact SEED.  \n\n \n\nSEED Corporation is a non-profit organization certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and designated as an Intermediary under the SBA's Microloan Program.  This program is designed to provide loans to new and existing business owners in amounts\n\nup to $50\,000.  SEED is also a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) under the U.S. Department of the Treasury. \n\n \n\nAs a regional economic development organization\, SEED also offers a full range\n\nof financing programs providing loans from $1\,000 up to $5.5 million to assist small businesses to grow and create jobs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
