SUMMARY:Financial Conversations That Matter
DESCRIPTION:A monthly series designed to educate attendees on financial topics that matter most. Each month we feature a new subject and invite a guest presenter to discuss financial topics that are relevant to families and business owners.\n\n\n\nAttending this workshop will allow participants to learn about relevant financial topics that can have an impact on their lives and ask questions about their concerns. The workshop is great for individuals\, families\, and business owners who want to work towards achieving their financial goals.\n\n\n\nThis Month:\n\n\n\nPlanning for the Cost of Long-Term Care\n\n\n\nThis session walks through what care actually costs in Greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire in 2026 from a few hours of companion care at home\, through adult day programs\, assisted living and memory care\, continuing care retirement communities\, and long-term care in a skilled nursing facility. It covers what drives the price up after move-in\, what Medicare and MassHealth do and do not pay for\, how to project costs five and ten years forward\, and why the waiting lists are often longer than the runway a family has left. Participants will leave with a current cost reference\, a planning timeline\, and a clear sense of which decisions have to be made years before the need arises.\n\n\n\nGary's Update:\n\n\n\nUnderstanding and Planning for Long-Term Care\n\n\n\nWe will have a discussion about the realities of long-term care\, the challenges faced by caregivers\, and how to create a plan for long-term care costs. Long-term care is not a place\; it's an EVENT a financial event that takes planning like any other event and deserves the same consideration. We plan financially for college\, weddings and retirement\, so why not plan for long-term care? In fact\, long-term care planning is an important part of retirement planning.
